How to copy text from dialog box in Windows

Whenever you want to ask some one regarding the errors you are getting, you need copy the error you are getting in the dialog box. Most of our readers when writing to us regarding the errors they are getting, they are supposed to copy the message on the dialog box and some readers written us how to copy the dialog box text.

How to copy text from dialog box in Windows

  • To copy the message on the dialog box all you need to do is, just press Ctrl+C keys together and this copies the whole text including title labels and buttons onto the clipboard. Make sure that the dialog box which you would like to copy is active before pressing the Ctrl+C keys. If not then click on the dialog box to make it active.
  • Let us consider the below dialog box, make it active and press Ctrl+C keys and copy it onto the Notepad and it looks like below.

Now you can send the above text as it is to the one whom you want to send. That’s it, it is just like copying the other text in Windows, but remember that the dialog box which you want to copy should be active.
