Updated November 2024: Stop getting error messages and slow down your system with our optimization tool. Get it now at this link
- Download and install the repair tool here.
- Let it scan your computer.
- The tool will then repair your computer.
The sniping tool is a great way to take a quick screenshot of what’s on your screen, cut out irrelevant parts and save the image. You can then share it with others or keep it in your own record.
Unfortunately, the clipping tool is not available for free, and a common mistake you may make is that the clipping could not be sent. This usually happens if you do not have a MAPI-compatible email client installed on your computer. In other words, you must have an email client program such as Microsoft Office Outlook, Mailbird or Mozilla Thunderbird installed on your device.
November 2024 Update:
You can now prevent PC problems by using this tool, such as protecting you against file loss and malware. Additionally, it is a great way to optimize your computer for maximum performance. The program fixes common errors that might occur on Windows systems with ease - no need for hours of troubleshooting when you have the perfect solution at your fingertips:
- Step 1 : Download PC Repair & Optimizer Tool (Windows 10, 8, 7, XP, Vista – Microsoft Gold Certified).
- Step 2 : Click “Start Scan” to find Windows registry issues that could be causing PC problems.
- Step 3 : Click “Repair All” to fix all issues.
Apart from that, the setup here is quite simple and can be done in no time at all.
Setting the default mail client in the registry
- Start the registry editor as before.
- Go to the next subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREClientsMail
- In the right pane, make sure that the data is set by default as Microsoft Outlook (or the mail client installed on your machine).
- If it is something else, double-click Standard and set the field accordingly.
- Also expand the mail key and check whether Microsoft Outlook (or the mail client you are using) is installed.
- If not, close the Registry Editor and continue repairing or reinstalling Outlook Express or the mail client you want to use.
- However, if the Outlook Express key is present in Mail, select it and check the MSIComponentID value on the right.
- The correct GUID should be {6DB1921E-8B40-4406-A18B-E906DBEEF0C9}. (This applies to the 2013 and 2016 outlooks).
- Double-click MSIComponentID and set the correct value if it is not already set.
Correct Registry Permissions for MSI Components
Even if the values for the default mail client and MSIComponentID are set correctly, incorrect permissions for the Installer\Components key can cause the error “no default mail client” or similar errors. Use these steps to correct the permissions on the MSI Outlook Components registry key:
- Proceed to the next branch:
- HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Components\F1291BD604B860441AB89E60BDEE0F9C
- Right-click the key, click Properties, and then click the Security tab.
- If the Users group is not in the list, click Add, type Users and press ENTER.
- Make sure the user group has permission to read the key.
- (For more information about changing permissions on registry keys or changing the owner, see the article How to Own Registry Keys and Assign Full Permissions)
- Exit the registry editor.
- The last option would be to uninstall and then completely reinstall your email client.
