Few things in life are as boring as having to deal with an OpenGL bug. It can bother you in your spare time or even at work, because these kinds of bugs affect video games as well as various software applications.
In general, the OpenGL problem is a plague for Windows users and especially for Minecraft players. But Mac and Linux users may also have a chance (albeit a very small one) to get out of it.
Sometimes, when you try to open an application using Remote Desktop from another Windows 10 system, the following error message appears: Sorry, the OpenGL version is too low, please update the graphics driver. This happens especially with the CLO application (a 3D clothing simulation program) when someone tries to access 3D tools. If you encounter the same problem when opening an application with Remote Desktop from another system, this tutorial will help you find a solution.
What is OpenGL?
OpenGL stands for Open Graphics Library. It is a multi-platform, multi-language application programming interface (API for short). Its main objective is to render 2D and 3D vector graphics and to implement hardware-accelerated rendering through interaction with the graphics processing unit (GPU – essentially the graphics card).
OpenGL Version Update
OpenGL drivers are used with the graphics card of your computer. These drivers are used for generic devices that are installed on your Windows system. If your OpenGL drivers are not up to date, the performance of your video card may be poor. Updating OpenGL drivers does not require a degree in computer science. You can easily update your drivers using the Windows Update software.
Updating your Intel graphics card and/or GPU can be done via the “Device Manager”. You can access the Device Manager by searching for “Device Manager” in the Start menu.
October 2024 Update:
