Many Origin users have recently encountered an error when trying to connect to Origin. An error message appears: “Online login is currently unavailable”.
If this happens to you, you may be very frustrated, but the good news is that you should be able to fix it easily. We have collected some corrections so that you can try them out.
Restart Origin completely
This is the first thing you should try if you notice the error “Login not available”. Simply restart Origin completely:
- Right-click the Origin icon in the notification area, then click Exit Origin.
- Open Origin and try to connect to your account.
Make sure that Origin is authorized by your antivirus protection and firewall.
Ports are end points between two connections. A port number, such as an address, is assigned at each end to control the flow of Internet traffic.
If you are having trouble connecting to one of our online games – and have tried basic troubleshooting – you may need to open some ports in your network connection.
Configuring the ports on a PC allows you to access your router settings. The steps are different for each router.
If you need help, we recommend that you contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
Using a VPN
Fortunately, there is a solution to connect online: currently not available message that still works. All you need is a VPN.
Then start your VPN and define your position in another country. For example, Spain. Log in now as usual.
November 2024 Update:
You can now prevent PC problems by using this tool, such as protecting you against file loss and malware. Additionally, it is a great way to optimize your computer for maximum performance. The program fixes common errors that might occur on Windows systems with ease - no need for hours of troubleshooting when you have the perfect solution at your fingertips:
- Step 1 : Download PC Repair & Optimizer Tool (Windows 10, 8, 7, XP, Vista – Microsoft Gold Certified).
- Step 2 : Click “Start Scan” to find Windows registry issues that could be causing PC problems.
- Step 3 : Click “Repair All” to fix all issues.
So that’s it? That’s it? Good. That’s the tricky part. You must now deactivate your VPN. Let’s hope that if it works, you should still be connected and able to play as usual.
EA also suggested the use of a VPN and a mobile hotspot. We do not recommend this last option so that you do not receive a phone bill at the end of the month, which would save you from receiving a data-heavy phone bill.
Reset Internet Explorer settings
You can reset the Internet Explorer settings to the settings they were when you first installed Internet Explorer on your PC. This is useful for troubleshooting problems that may be caused by settings that have been changed after installation. Note that this operation cannot be undone and that all previous Internet Explorer settings will be lost after the reset.
- Close all open windows and programs.
- Open Internet Explorer, select Tools > Internet Options.
- Select the Advanced tab.
- In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, select Reset.
- If you are sure you want to reset all Internet Explorer settings, select Reset.
- When Internet Explorer has finished applying the default settings, choose Close and click OK. Restart your PC to apply the changes.
Disable pop-up window blockers in Internet Explorer
This is another Internet Explorer fix that works well when combined with the above method. It is not clear why the pop-up blocker could interfere with Origin, but it has worked for many users, so give it a try!
- Open Internet Explorer on your computer by searching for it on your desktop or in the Start menu.
- Click on the speed icon in the upper right corner. In the menu that opens, click on Internet Options to open a list of its connection settings.
- If you do not have access to Internet Explorer, open the Control Panel by searching for it in the Start menu or using Windows Key + R, type “control.exe” in the Run box, then click OK to run the Control Panel.
- In the Control Panel, select View as: Category in the upper right corner and click on the Network and
- Internet button to open this section. In this window, click on Internet Options to access the same screen as the one you would use to open Internet Explorer.
- Go to the Privacy tab and see the section Blocking pop-ups. Clear the Enable pop-up blocker check box next to it.
- Be sure to accept the changes you have made and restart your computer before checking that you can now connect to Origin without any problems.
