Office 2016 is the suite of all Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook and many other applications. It helps organizations, businesses and students create spreadsheets, documents, slides, manage email and much more. Office 2016 is developed by Microsoft.
The problem occurs on MAC OSX, and the problem is that activating Office 2016 does not work. This is due to the fact that MAC OSX released an update to the latest version of (OSX Sierra (10.12.2)) in mid-December, which caused the problem of access to the keychain. So we have the solution for this bug. We will explain it methodically. Follow our steps and fix your 0xD000000C error.
Delete all KeyChain Access Data Licenses
KeyChain Access stores all passwords, including software licenses. If KeyChain Access already has an entry called “Office”, there is a high probability that this error message will be displayed when you activate a new installation of Microsoft Office. Therefore, you should remove all Microsoft Office entries from KeyChain Access. To do this, press Cmd+Space to open Spotlight Search and search for KeyChain Access. After typing, you must open the corresponding result.
Now search for “office” in the specified search field. If you get something for this search term, you have to right-click on it and use the Delete option.

Do you use a network account?
If you have logged in to your Mac using a network account such as Open directory accounts, this error may occur because Office for Mac cannot write your credentials into the key ring because it is “read-only”.
If you logged in with a network account, log out and log back in with your local user account. Try activation again.
If you do not have a local user account, you will need to create one:
- From the Apple menu, select System Preferences > Users and Groups.
- Select Click the padlock to make changes and enter your password. Select Unlock.
- Select +, then enter the information for the new account and select Create User.
- Log in to your local user account and reactivate it.
Delete entries from the Library folder
The Library folder on the Mac is something like the program files in Windows. If you delete specific files, the license is removed and you can get the activation window. To do this, open the Library folder. If you don’t know the process, you can go to your desktop and click the “Go” button, which is visible in the top navigation bar. After you get the list of folders, press the Option key. You should now see the Library folder in the menu.
In the Library folder, you should open the Group Containers folder. Here you should see four entries entitled->>Group Containers.
- UBF8T346G9.ms
- UBF8T346G9.office
- UBF8T346G9.officeOneDriveSync Integration
- UBF8T346G9.OfficeOsfWebHost
You must delete all four folders and reopen Word or Excel to activate the product without error.
