With the release of Windows 8.1,, Microsoft offers many new features and has also removed some useful things from Windows. One of the most important things that some may miss is Windows Experience Index. For those who do not know Windows Experience Index, it is a Microsoft reference tool that determines the performance of your computer. It analyzes your processor calculations per second, memory operations per second – graphics by determining Windows Aero desktop performance and so on.
Microsoft first introduced it in Windows Vista. Microsoft removed the Windows RT Experience Index, but retained it on the original version of Windows 8 in October 2012.
I think it was a bad step for Microsoft that they decided to end this feature. It was a good way to evaluate a PC without additional tools. Well, at least geeks have looked at this score and compared performance, but when it comes to average domestic users, they don’t care about this feature. Most of them didn’t even know that such a function existed under Windows 7 or Windows 8.
Thanks to WEI, I knew if I needed a hard driver with better speed or even an SSD on my laptop. But I guess Microsoft decided to stop this feature because it was less popular with users. Let’s face it, geeks are a rare breed compared to the average home or work user who doesn’t really care about these minor changes.
It is thought that Windows 8 removed this feature because Windows Store could do the job for them. Just like Google Play Store, which does not allow you to install an incompatible game. So I guess if you want to check if a game is compatible with your PC today, you can visit Can You Run It.
This website evaluates your PC and lists the game that works with your PC. How it works is that it examines your computer’s hardware and system software to determine if your current system can run a game. Recommendations are given on how to update or update any components that do not meet the requirements listed. This patent-pending technology is called Instant Expert Analysis and is provided by the System Requirements Laboratory.
