Troubleshooting Game Explorer does not work on Windows 7

If you notice that you can’t access the Games folder in Windows 7 or that its link doesn’t open or that you can’t start a game from there, here are some things you might want to try.

Game Explorer does not work

To open the Games folder in Windows 7, usually click the Game Explorer link in the Start menu.

If you cannot see the Games link, right-click Start > Right-click > Properties > Start Menu tab > Customize > Games > Show as Link or Show as Menu > OK > Apply > OK.

You can also type Shell:Games in the Windows Start menu search bar and press Enter to open the Games folder.

If the Games Explorer folder does not open in your Windows, do it:

Type appears as result, right click and select Run as Administrator.

In the extended prompt, type

When you start a game from Games Explorer, you get an error message :

No program is assigned to this file to perform this action. Create an association in all ControlPanel
