Windows Embedded release notes indicate that Windows applications do not start immediately when Windows App Launcher is used. Most PC enthusiasts are exploring ways to increase computer speed by trying various optimizations. Today, I share with you an adjustment I found in the release notes mentioned above regarding reducing desktop loading time under Windows 8/10 using a registry hack.

I would strongly advise you to create a system restore point or backup your registry before continuing. To save the recording, follow these steps:

Press Win + R and enter Regedit.

Go to the File menu and click Export

Make sure the export range is set to ALL.

Then enter the file name and click Save.

Procedure 1:

Now that we have saved the registry, let the process start

Open the registry and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USERoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorer.

Search for a Serialize key, if you cannot find it, then create one

Right-click Explorer and point to new and select key and enter Serialize.

Right-click an empty area on the right side of the window, then point to New and DWORD (32 bits) and type StartupDelayInMSec.

Then double-click StartupDelayInMSec and enter the values as 0 and click OK.

Restart your computer for it to take effect.

Method 2 :

Open a notepad and insert the following text :

Go to File and click Save As

Enter the file name in quotation marks Decrease-boot-time.reg and save it to your desktop.

Then, simply double-click the file name and click Yes for the command prompt.

Restart the system.

To return to the default settings, simply delete StartupDelayInMSec under Serialize.

What this does, you can set a value to delay the automatic start of your desktop applications. If you set the value to zero, the boot time of your Windows PC 10/8 is automatically reduced.

Some say it’s just a placebo, while others say it works – so tell us if it worked for you.

Check this box if your Windows applications take a long time to load.
