LinkedIn is the world’s largest professional network that connects professionals with companies and partners via the Internet. It may happen that you have accepted a connection or contact from someone you no longer want to follow for some reason – sending spam, lack of professionalism or just general disagreement. The best thing to do is to remove this person from your connection list.
Did you know that LinkedIn allows you to track a connection without removing it from your connection list? This prevents their messages from appearing in your feed. Our guide shows you two different ways to remove a LinkedIn connection.
How to Unfollow a Connection in LinkedIn
The procedure is simple.
- Call up the search page from your LinkedIn home page.
- Click on the More drop-down list and select companies or schools.
- Enter the name of the company, university or college and press Enter.
- Click the “Unfollow” button to the right of the organization name in the search results list.
- You can also hide an organization in the “Interests” section when editing your profile.

If you want to follow several people, it can be tedious to call each of their pages individually to do so. Fortunately for desktop users, there is a complete list of all the people you follow, from which you can follow them directly. Unfortunately for mobile users, this feature is not available in the LinkedIn mobile application, so you’ll need to either run it on the desktop or browse through all of the users’ pages.
Desktop users can access a list of all the people they follow by clicking on “My Network” in the top bar and selecting “People I Follow” in the left column.
By default, this page shows only the people you follow but with whom you are not logged in. To see a list of all the people you follow, click on the “X” to the right of the filter bar. This is because an off-network filter is applied, which restricts your view to people who are not on your network. If you disable the filter, you will see a list of the people you are following.
Below each name is a box labeled “Next”. If you wish to remove a person from this list, simply click on this box and the person is immediately removed. As soon as a person is not followed, the label in the box changes to “Follow”.
