Run Windows 10 from a USB stick

First, connect to your current Windows 10 computer to create a Windows 10 ISO file that will be used to install Windows 10 on the USB stick.

To do this, go to the Windows 10 download site. This website offers the latest edition of Windows 10, which is currently the update of Windows 10 October 2018, or Windows 10 Version 1809, click on the Download Tool Now button. Then double-click on the downloaded MediaCreationTool.exe file to install the tool.

Click the Access button on the first screen Applicable Messages and License Conditions. Then click on the option “Create installation media for another PC” and click on Next. On the Select Language, Architecture and Edit screen, check that all options are correct, then click Next.

Select a location on your hard disk to save the Windows.iso file. Click on Save. Windows 10 generates the required ISO file. When the process is complete, click Finish.

That’s all there is! You can now take your USB key or hard drive and perform the portable installation on any computer.

To do this, you must plug in the drive, restart the computer you are using and start on the USB drive. The first time it runs, it installs the drivers and takes a little time to start, then configures it as a Windows 8.x reinstall.
