Valorant is one of the most popular first-person shooter games, played by millions of people around the world. This is the first game of this genre, developed by Riot and offers fans a variety of exciting content. However, the game is also full of many typical mistakes in a huge video game with lots of graphics.

Users are faced with a number of different bug codes, each of which points to a different problem. The Valorant critical error is one of the most common bugs reported by players. So let’s take a look at what the error code means and how to fix it.

What is the cause of a critical error?

VALORANT is constantly updated, be it new effects, functions or other great additions. These add-ons usually use the latest available software that the video card and operating system manufacturers have at the time. While no one appreciates advanced technology as much as I do, there are some noticeable symptoms that can occur if your software is outdated. Some of these problems may be:

  • The game flies out on the desktop
  • Screen black when you start the game
  • The game will be closed immediately after the start
  • The game hangs completely without departures to the desktop

Update your Directx

DirectX is a series of APIs (application programming interfaces) developed by Microsoft. This API allows various applications to interact with equipment on your computer without knowing in advance what kind of equipment it is. Many applications use DirectX, but it is most often used to run games because they usually require hardware.

If you are using an older version of DirectX, VALORANT will have problems interacting with your hardware (graphics card, mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc.). This can cause various errors, including driver crashes, unregistered keyboard or mouse input, or loss of sound.

Run the game as an administrator

Quick and easy way to fix Valorant 1 bug is to run the game file (.exe) as administrator. Essentially, it gives you permission for User Access Control (UAC) on Valorant so that you can properly load and run the game in Windows. All you need to do is find the Valorant (.exe) file, right-click on it and select “Properties”. Then you need to go to the “Compatibility” tab and activate “Run as administrator”. Click “Apply” and click “OK” to save your changes. This should fix the bug for most users.

Update your video card drivers

If the Valorant 1 error code is saved, try to update the video card drivers. However, if you encounter a problem, Riot recommends reinstalling the game, including uninstalling Riot Valorant. To uninstall it, you need to go to the Control Panel and click on “Programs and Components”. Right-click “Riot Vanguard” and click “Uninstall” to uninstall it. Reboot the system and restart the game client which will automatically reinstall Riot Vanguard. Now restart the system and start the game.

Back to the base clock

If you overclock your CPU or graphics processor, you will need to use base frequencies to solve this problem. In fact, games are not as stable with some overclocked processors or graphics processors. As a result random crashes often occur during the game. The workaround is to maintain a very stable FPS limit, which can save you the trouble of resetting the default settings. However, if this does not work, you will have to go back to the default hours. If you overclocked your GPU with MSI Afterburner, the rollback should be very simple. All you have to do is remove the profiles which are in the Program Files (x86)> MSI Afterburner> Profiles directory. This will remove your settings.

You can use different 3rd party utilities like CPU-Z or GPU-Z to find and check the default base clock speeds of your CPU and GPU after removing the overclocking.

Update your BIOS

Update BIOS

If none of the above solutions helped you, you may have a BIOS firmware problem. In such a scenario, all you have to do is install the latest update available for your BIOS and then check if the problem persists. This was reported by the user who encountered the same error message and updated the BIOS to solve the problem. The BIOS update may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. However, instructions are often provided by the manufacturer on their website. To get the desired result, a simple Google search is enough.
