Is it possible to remove “HomeGroupUser$” from the login screen when Windows starts up?

The HomeGroup is designed to simplify the networking of Windows PCs. If you do not have any other network devices, you can disable them.

Networking Windows can become quite complicated. However, if you only want to share your files and printers with a few other Windows PCs on your local network, the HomeGroups feature makes it easy. However, if you don’t use it at all and prefer not to see it in your file explorer – or in the Open/Save As dialog boxes – you can disable the HomeGroup service. You will need to disable some services and then – if you are using Windows 8 or 10 – make a quick jump to the registry. Here’s how to do it.

The HomeGroupUser$ account usually appears due to a damaged Windows Homegroup user account and can be removed from the login screen with some methods. Sometimes, when you start your system, you get an unknown account asking for a password on the login screen, and before you can enter the password, the message “The password is wrong” appears. This unknown account is called HomeGroupUser$. Despite the appearance of the account, you can log in to your real account, and although the account is not harmful, it becomes a problem if you have to deal with repetition.
