Check third-party applications and change the priority

Before proceeding with any technical solutions, we will try to check for third-party applications running in the background that may conflict with StarCraft 2 or compete for resources. Each time you start a game, the full CPU power must be used to start the game. In this solution, we will go to task manager and force the closing of additional applications. Later, we will also change the priority of the game and see if this changes in our case.

  • Press Windows + R, type “taskmgr” in the dialog box and press Enter.
  • In Task Manager, look at all the processes running in the background. Look for processes that you think are consuming resources. Right-click on it and select “Complete the task”.
  • Now try restarting StarCraft 2 and see if the delay problem is finally solved.

If the last one doesn’t solve the problem and still leaves, we’ll go back to task manager and change the game priority.

  • Open Task Manager again, like in the previous step, and go to the “Details” tab.
  • Now find StarCraft 2 in the list, right-click it and choose “Set Priority”>”Real-Time” (or “High”).
  • After making any changes, go back to the game and see if the failure is corrected.

Turn off EVGA Precision X

EVGA Precision X is a popular overclocking tool for Nvidia video cards. Although this tool can reveal the full power of your graphics card, it has been reported that EVGA Precision X may fail in Starcraft 2.

Be sure to disable EVGA Precision X before running Starcraft 2 to prevent Starcraft 2 from crashing in Windows 10.
