A problem that has been going on for about a month, maybe longer. It started with an optional update, but seems to have turned into an important update. There are currently three updates that can’t be installed all the time, so I can’t be sure what it is anymore.
The main updates that continue to fail are Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based systems (KB3063858) and Update for Windows 7 for x64-based systems (KB3068708).
The optional update that keeps failing is Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 for x-64-based systems, which is very confusing since I don’t even like or use Internet Explorer 11. It’s still a task when you see it hanging around the update area.

Disable the Nalpeiron license software
If you have installed the product under Nalpeiron license, this may cause Windows updates to fail. If there is one, disable it before reinstalling the updates. Run “System Configuration” by searching for “msconfig” or running it via “Run”. Right-click on “msconfig.exe” and choose whether you want to run as a system administrator. Enter your administrator password when prompted.
In the System Configuration window, click on the Services tab, check and uncheck the Nalpeiron Licensing Service box. Click Apply and OK to save the changes. Close “System Configuration” and restart Windows 7. After the restart, try to install the updates again and they should be successfully installed. Once the updates have been successfully installed, reactivate this service and update it with the latest version available on the site.
