Reliability Monitor under Windows uses data provided by the scheduled task RACAgent. The Reliability Analysis component collects and analyzes problems. The reliability monitor displays a stability index, a feature and specific event information 24 hours after system installation.

The Reliability Analysis Component (RAC) provides Reliability Monitor with data on software installations and upgrades, application and operating system errors, and hardware problems. This data is used to calculate the system stability index of the reliability monitor. The data displayed in the Control Panel is collected by the scheduled RacTask task.

If you determine that the RACAgent scheduled task is disabled, you must manually enable it from the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) task scheduler snap-in. To enable the RACAgent Schedule task, first enter Scheduled Tasks in the settings search bar and click’Scheduled Tasks’.

This opens the task scheduler. In the navigation pane, expand the Task Scheduler Library, Microsoft and Windows. Scroll down until you find RAC, then select it.

Right-click RAC, click View, then click Show hidden tasks.

In the results window, click RACAgent. The RACAgent task name may not appear in the results window. If you cannot find it, expand the’Name’ column in the results window. Then click on the’Action’ menu and select the’Activate’ option. To turn it off, right-click RacTask and select Disable.

You can also simply activate it from the command prompt.

Perform CMD as administrator. Enter the following and press Enter :

schtasks.exe /change /enable /tn MicrosoftWindowsRACRACRacRacTask

When a SUCCESS message is returned, you have enabled data collection for the reliability monitor.

To turn it off, use :

schtasks.exe /change /disable /tn MicrosoftWindowsRACRACRacRacTask
