Using the Group Policy Editor
To disable or disable access to the Windows store, type gpedit.msc in the Run field and press Enter to open the Local Group Policy Editor. Navigate to the next setting:
Computer configuration > Administrative templates > Windows components > Save
Here you see the setting Deactivate Store application in the right area.
Double-click to open the Settings box, select On, and click Apply.
This setting denies or allows access to the Store application. Enabling this setting prevents access to the Store application. Store access is required to install application updates. If you disable or do not configure this setting, access to the Store application is allowed.
Leave the Group Policy Editor.
To reactivate them, you must Select and exit Not configured.
Using the registry editor
If your Windows version does not have a group policy editor, run regedit and press Enter to open the registry editor. Navigate to the next registry key :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREP PoliciesMicrosoftWindowsStore
Create a new DWORD value in the WindowsStore key. Name it RemoveWindowsStore and give it the value 1. If the WindowsStore key does not exist, create it first.
Restart your Windows 10/8.1 computer.
You have disabled the Windows Store application, and if someone has tried to open it, they receive the following message :
Windows Store is not available on this PC. Contact your system administrator for more information
To reactivate the Windows store, type RemoveWindowsStore the value 0(2)(2).
I hope this will help you.
NOTE: Our ultimate Windows Tweaker allows you to do it in one click!
UPDATE : Under Windows 10 Pro v 1511 and later, you will notice that you cannot disable the Windows store. It is only available under Windows 10 Enterprise & Education.
