Geolocation is a relatively new feature in the latest versions of most browsers. It allows websites to track your physical location to provide you with location-based search results, services or options.

You may have noticed that each time you visit a website that requires access to your site for the first time, you see your browser indicating that this website requires access to your site. We have the ability to allow or deny access, but normally we do. If you allow access, you can send your IP address along with your device details, MAC address, etc. This data is stored in cookies. Other websites cannot access this information – only the website to which you have access.

Privacy conscious individuals among you may not want to disclose their physical location. These users can tell their browser to deny access by disabling the geolocation feature. Let’s see how to do this in Internet Explorer, Chrome, Opera and Firefox browsers.
