Windows 10/8 is designed for Windows Store applications and comes with some modern applications preinstalled to help users get started with Windows. However, there are people who cannot be used for some of the pre-installed applications by default and want to uninstall them completely.
Although Windows 10 applications are easy to uninstall, this article will share the path to completely remove all Windows Store applications from Windows 10/8.
Please note that if you uninstall a Windows Store application with the usual options, the application will be temporarily deleted and will go to a multi-level state described later in this article. So, when you create a new user account under Windows 8/10, all preinstalled applications are displayed again because the default Windows Store applications are not completely removed from the system.
To completely remove all applications preinstalled by default, you must be logged in as administrator (16) of your Windows account – and you must remove it in two places :
- Remove the supplied packaging.
- Remove the installed package from the administrator account.
If you are a Windows 10 user and do not want to go through this process, use our 10AppsManager to easily uninstall and reinstall Windows Store applications in Windows 10.
If you want to know the manual method, read the following. The first part applies to Windows 8 and the second part to Windows 10.
Before proceeding, first create a system restore point.

1 You must first open a raised PowerShell prompt. Press Windows + Q and enter in the search field . From the results, select Windows PowerShellRun as administrator from below.

Order to remove all modern applications from your system account
3 Run the following command to remove all Windows Store applications :
Get-AppXProvisionedPackage -online | Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage -online
That’s it! If you now create a new user account on your Windows 8, there are no modern applications preinstalled on this account either.
When we uninstall a Windows Store application, its status appears in the PowerShell window as Staged. This means that the application is still running Windows. In other words, the application is ready to install automatically when a new user account is created.
4 If you want to delete all modern applications for the current account only, use the following command :
Get-AppXPackage | Remove-AppxPackage
5 If you want to remove all modern applications for a specific user, then add part -User | of the above command :
Get-AppXPackage -User | Remove-AppxPackage
6 Finally, let’s use the command to remove all modern applications from your entire Windows 8 account :
Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers | Remove-AppxPackage
That’s it! Applications will now be completely uninstalled and removed from your Windows 8 system!
After the November update, if you used this method, it broke Windows Store applications – maybe due to an error. But it works now – Admin. 1 July 2016
