An error occurred while the Internet connection was active

However, when they try to activate the ICS, they sometimes receive the following error:

An error occurred when the Internet connection was activated. The service cannot accept control messages at this time.

In such a situation, follow the troubleshooting steps below to see if they will help you solve your problem:

1: Check if the security software interferes with the process

Sometimes the security software can block any connection to an external access point if it is a security threat. White both the firewall and anti-virus are essential to the proper functioning of the system, they could be disabled for some time to isolate the problem. Once the cause is confirmed, we can proceed accordingly.

After disabling your security software, verify that you can now connect the system to the access point. If this is not the case, disable the Windows firewall and check.

Sometimes the problem seems to occur on computers with the Windows firewall disabled. The Windows Firewall service should work even if you are using another antivirus and firewall program on your computer.

2 : Run Windows Update on the system and restart the system

1] Open Windows search and check’Check for updates’.

2] Open Windows updates and, if not already the case, update your system

3 : Check the service settings Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)

1] Open the runtime window with Windows + R.

2] Enter services.msc, press Enter and open the Service Manager.

3] Browse the list (in alphabetical order) and search for Internet Connection Sharing

4] Right-click Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) and click Properties.

5] In the General tab of the Properties window, make sure that the start type is set to Automatic (Delayed Start). You can also set it to Automatic.

Restart the system and check if the problem is solved.

Let’s hope something works for you.
