Protected Extensible Authentication Protocol, better known as PEAP, is a protocol that provides an additional security layer for wireless LANs and point-to-point connections with PEAP passwords. The protocol can be used for small and medium businesses and provides more secure authentication for 802.11 wireless local area networks (WLANs) that support 802.1X port access control.
The weaknesses of the 802.11 Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) standard allow an attacker to detect and analyze encrypted frames to determine the encryption key. However, the PEAP addresses security deficiencies 802.11. Unlike the WPA and WEP protocol that we use for our Wi-Fi home connection, PEAP does not automatically store network access data.
Each time we connect to the same network for PEAP, we need to provide a little more information like username and domain as well as the usual password for the connection. Doing this becomes a task every time. Here is a way for Windows to remember PEAP Wi-Fi network authentication.
