You cannot cancel a reboot or shutdown from the Windows Shutdown Event Tracker interface. This task can only be executed from the command line. To cancel or cancel the system shutdown or restart, open the command prompt, type shutdown /a in the time period and press Enter. Instead, it would be easier to create an office or key combination for him. The /a argument cancels the shutdown of a system and can only be used during the timeout period.

Right-click an empty area on your desktop. Choose New>Short Order. In the first field of the shortcut wizard, type : Shutdown.exe -a. Now click Next and name the shortcut: Cancel Stop. Click Finish. Finally, select an appropriate icon!

To get this shortcut to cancel the system shutdown, press with the right mouse button over > Properties > Shortcut Tab. In the keyboard shortcut field, you will see’None’ written. Click in this field and press the A key on your keyboard. The letters Ctrl + Alt + Alt + Del appear automatically and are now your key combination to cancel the shutdown or restart. Click Apply > OK.

This function can only be used during the timeout. So remember that you may only have a few seconds to stop the shutdown or restart process, so you better have very fast fingers to use this shortcut!

Alternatively, you can create a separate link for the stop as follows :

Right-click an empty area on your desktop. Choose New>Short Order. In the first field of the Create Shortcut Wizard: Disable -s -t 30 Click Next. Shortcut name: Stop and click Finish. Then select an appropriate symbol !

If you use this close link, you will first see a dialog box with the message: The windows turn off in less than a minute. In our case, it will shut down in 30 seconds.

This gives you 30 seconds to cancel the system shutdown. As soon as the stop or restart is interrupted, you will see an icon in the taskbar.

Click on the icon to make it disappear !

You can also create a shortcut restart with a 15 second delay using : Shutdown -r -t 30

Since we are talking about stop switches, you may want to see the stop options in Windows and the new CMD switches for shutdown.exe in Windows.
