Like most things, your Nintendo Switch needs an update from time to time. The latest update prepares you for the latest games and adds new features or fixes bugs that have caused you problems in the past. Updating your Nintendo Switch couldn’t be easier, but here’s a quick look at how to perform an update and what you can find in the latest software for your switch!
In most cases, Nintendo will automatically notify you when there is an update for your switch. You will then see a pop-up window like the one shown above, telling you that you need to make an update. When you see this screen, simply press “Update” to continue.
If you don’t see an update window and you know that an update is available, just go to your switch settings, scroll down the list to the System tab at the bottom, and the first thing in that list will be the system update. Here you’ll see the current version of your switch, and when you press update, it will check to see if there’s anything new. As long as you are connected to the internet, you will get the update and be up to date within minutes.
