Internet Explorer 11 displays a message at the bottom of the screen indicating that a longstanding script causes non-response. And that’s true – the browser stopped responding for a while.
The error “Not responding due to a long-running script” is displayed when the user tries to scroll a web page using Internet Explorer 11. For most of the users concerned, the problem is intermittent and only occurs with several different web addresses.
Make sure that script errors occur on several web pages.
If the only sign of this problem is the error message, and if the websites are working, you can probably ignore the error. Even if the problem occurs on one or two web pages, the problem can still be caused by these pages. If you choose to ignore errors, you can disable script debugging.
Note If this problem occurs in more than one or two locations, do not disable script debugging.
Make sure that the problem is caused by files or settings on your computer.
To determine the cause of the problem, use a different user account, browser or computer to display the web pages that caused the script error.
If the script error does not occur when you view the web page from another user account, browser or computer, the problem may be caused by files or settings on your computer.

Delete all temporary Internet files
Each time you open a browser to view a web page, your computer saves a local copy of that web page in a temporary file. If the folder size is too large for temporary Internet files, display problems can occur when you open web pages. Regular deletion of the file can help to solve the problem.
To delete all temporary Internet-related files for Internet Explorer 11, Internet Explorer 10, Internet Explorer 9 or Internet Explorer 8
- Start Internet Explorer.
- On the Tools menu, click Internet Options. If you cannot see the Tools menu, press Alt to display the menus.
- Click on the General tab.

This utility automatically detects problems with your version of Internet Explorer and repairs them automatically if the problem is already documented by Microsoft.
