How to display your name in Windows taskbar

Windows allow you to customize the look of your PC as you like. Microsoft has integrated lot of in-built abilities in Windows to customize the default appearance and options and it is adding new options in new versions. In our previous article we have discussed how to display seconds in the taskbar clock in Windows. Here in this article we are going to show you some special thing, how to display name in the Windows taskbar.

How to display your name in Windows taskbar

Here we are going to show you how to do it on Windows 8 PC, but it also works on Windows 7 and Windows Vista as well.

  • If you are using Windows 8. then press Win+X keys to launch the Power User menu and here click on Control Panel option and select Region.
    If you are using Windows 7, click on Windows logo start menu and select Control panel and Select Region.

  • In the Region window, click on Additional Settings button.
  • This will open Customize Format window and here select Time tab. Here change the AM and PM letters as you wish. Make sure that you are using 12 hour format.
  • Them click on Apply and on OK.

That’s it, this is how to display any name in the Windows Taskbar. If you don’t like the change you have made then simply reverse them and restore the settings to default, by just clicking on the restore button or changing them back to AM and PM manually.

Here is another simple method to display your name in the Windows taskbar. First create a folder on the desktop with the name which you like to display in the taskbar. Right click on the taskbar and select Toolbar > New Toolbar. Now browse to the folder you have created and select it. Now delete the folder you have created, but your name will appear on the taskbar.
