Why is this necessary? Because users wearing head-mounted screens cannot see what surrounds them. It is therefore important to create a boundary to avoid obstacles and collisions.

The boundary appears mainly as a white outline in mixed reality and becomes visible immediately as one approaches it. Its appearance means the end of the safety zone, so slow down your movements and avoid stretching your limbs beyond them, as you may encounter living room furniture. read more

Windows 10 on ARM: Everything you need to know about it

It simply feels like the most natural, safe and secure way to work in a team and be creative.

  • Finally, the battery life is simply awesome! I find myself loading it once a week. When I was using a portable device that needed to be recharged every day, I didn’t really need it. Once I switched to a Fitbit that only needed to be recharged once a week, which changed for me. The transport of power cables is not liberating.

How x86 applications work when developed for ARM

All the things I’m going to describe briefly now come from this video from a Windows 10 session on ARM build 2017

These x86 applications now run on an emulation layer. This emulation layer works like magic to invent everything. Code for Kernal, drives and other inbox programs such as Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Store, Calculator, Camera and other preinstalled applications are written for ARM. Other x86 applications like Adobe Photoshop or 7-zip run with a custom Microsoft emulator called WOW or Windows on Windows. And for x86 DLLs, Compiled Hybrid PE or CHPE is used to convert x86 code to ARM64. That makes all the magic possible. Detailed and technical information on the same technology can be found in the related video above. read more
