In this article from me, we will learn how to use Windows 8. Let me point out in advance that you may need to unlearn a few things before you can start learning Windows 8 navigation. In my opinion, there is a steep learning curve for basic navigation, especially if you are a normal Windows user and you don’t consider yourself a geek. Windows 8 can make a lot of sense on a tablet and touch devices, but on a desktop or laptop you may have to develop new ways of thinking.

Learning to use Windows 8 – A tutorial

In this article, I will not talk about twisting, tricks or features, but just give some basic tips to help you get started. Optimizations and excursions and discussions about features may come later. First, you need to get your feet wet and learn to navigate the Windows 8 screen and desktop startup … and even learn to turn off Windows 8 ! Once you have mastered this, you will find that it is just as easy under Windows 7 to move around under Windows 8, if not more than before.

When you start Windows 8, you will first see a lock screen. It shows you places you can access quickly, such as your inbox or your messages or updates.

To connect to your PC, press the lock screen. You can log in with an image password, a normal Windows user name and password, or your Microsoft credentials. You can create two types of accounts: a local account just for this PC or a Microsoft account that runs on all PCs running Windows 8. You can choose one of these options as the connection method.

Once connected, you will see the new Windows 8 start screen, the start page of your Windows 8 PC. You no longer see your familiar desktop, your favorite wallpaper, the taskbar or the start button. The start screen displays tiles representing applications, people, programs, shortcuts and more. Live tiles always show what’s happening on your PC without you having to start a particular application.

On a contactless device such as a laptop or desktop computer, when you move the cursor to that corner and click the small icon that appears, you will be guided to the start screen.

To return to the application or program you were in, move the cursor to the upper left corner and click. If you continue clicking, you will be guided through the most recently used applications. If you move the mouse slightly down, a list of all recently used applications opens. Here you can go directly to any application.

Now click on’All Applications’ to quickly view and access all installed applications.

Consider the start screen as your new start menu and click the Win Flag button. To work on your desktop, click the Win button again. Alternatively, clicking the Win Flag button displays the Start button. and the office. Once you accept it, it will be much easier for you to work with the Windows 7 desktop and start screen.

On the Desktop, when you move the cursor to the lower left corner , you have the option to display the start screen. Right-click for a menu option that provides quick links to the explorer, control panel, search, task manager, Run, etc.

When you move the cursor to the lower right corner , the desktop preview function is activated. Right-click to see the Show and Peek Desktop option. The transparent Desktop Peek area may be missing, but the functionality is very large. To see the charm bar, move the cursor over the part at the top right of the desktop or even on the start screen.

To view two Windows 8 applications side by side, you can use the snap function. To use this function, select one of the applications and drag it to the right edge of the screen.

Windows 8 on a touch device

When you are on a touch device, switching between applications is fast and smooth. Simply wipe your thumb on the left edge of the screen to change your applications. If you slide your finger on the side, all open applications are listed.

To close a Metro application, simply pull your finger down and throw it down.

In Internet Explorer in the Metro style, it is quite easy to switch from one open page to another. You can move your finger to the right or left to edit open pages. If you move up and down, you will see a list of all open tabs. To share a link with your friends, you must pull your finger on the right side. This will display the bar Charms bar. The charm bar displays some of the basic Windows 8 functions available for this application. Here you can choose the Share button to share a web link if you wish.

To exit Windows 8, move the cursor to the upper right corner to access the Charms bar.
