Windows Remote Assistance is a great way to give remote control of your Windows computer to someone you trust. With your permission, your friend or technician can even control your PC with their own mouse and keyboard and show you how to solve a problem – or how to solve it yourself.
In this post, we will see how to configure and use Windows Remote Assistance in Windows 10/8
Press Win+X and select’Control Panel’ from the menu. Search system. The window displays all the basic specifications of your computer such as model number, CPU configuration, installed memory, etc.
Now navigate to the Remote tab in the system properties and select Allow remote support for this computer and click the’Apply’ button.
You can even make some settings here. For example, you can set limits for the use of remote maintenance, make the computer remote controlled, and set the maximum number of invitations.
If you notice that your Windows firewall is blocking remote support, create a rule that allows it. To do this, open the Run dialog box. Type Firewall.cpl in the text box and click’OK’. The Windows Firewall Control Panel starts. Go to the left pane and click Allow an application or feature through the Windows firewall.
December 2024 Update:
You can now prevent PC problems by using this tool, such as protecting you against file loss and malware. Additionally, it is a great way to optimize your computer for maximum performance. The program fixes common errors that might occur on Windows systems with ease - no need for hours of troubleshooting when you have the perfect solution at your fingertips:
- Step 1 : Download PC Repair & Optimizer Tool (Windows 10, 8, 7, XP, Vista – Microsoft Gold Certified).
- Step 2 : Click “Start Scan” to find Windows registry issues that could be causing PC problems.
- Step 3 : Click “Repair All” to fix all issues.
You should find a list of devices that are disabled/enabled via the Windows firewall. Click Change Settings.
Scroll down until you find the Remote Assistance option. When you find it, click the option to allow remote support.
Open a high command prompt, type msra.exe and press Enter to open Windows remote support. Follow the wizard on the screen. Click Invite someone you trust to help you or Help someone who invited you, as appropriate.
Say you want to invite someone to see and use your computer. Click Invite someone you trust to help you.
You can generate the invitation as a file or use the e-mail to send an invitation or use Easy Connect. I prefer Use email to send an invitation.
The invitation file will then be sent to your friend using your email program.
Your friend must then enter the code into his remote maintenance field. Once this has been successfully done, the two computers are connected to each other. When your work is finished, do not forget to disable this function.
Make sure the remote computer is turned on, connected to the network and that remote access is enabled.
You can now remotely control technical support via Quick Assist under Windows 10.
In addition, the Microsoft Remote Desktop Assistant helps you prepare your PC for accessing your PC from another device.
