  • Through Search Bar:
    1. Type registry in the Windows search bar.
    2. Select the Registry Editor app to open it.

Start Menu Customization in Windows 11

Customize the Start menu to resemble the classic Windows 10 style:

  1. Open the Registry Editor.
  2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced.
  3. Right-click in the right pane and select New -> DWORD (32-bit) Value.
  4. Name this new value Start_ShowClassicMode.
  5. Double-click on it and set the Value data to 1.

Speeding Up Windows 11 Startup

Disable the startup delay to make Windows 11 start faster:

  1. Launch the Registry Editor.
  2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer.
  3. Right-click on Explorer, choose New -> Key, and name it Serialize.
  4. Within the Serialize key, right-click, select New -> DWORD (32-bit) Value, and name it StartupDelayInMSec.
  5. Double-click on StartupDelayInMSec and change the Value data to 0.
  6. Restart your PC to apply the changes.

Display Seconds in Taskbar Clock

Show seconds along with the time and date on your taskbar clock:

  1. Open the Registry Editor.
  2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced.
  3. Right-click on Advanced, select New -> DWORD (32-bit) Value, and name it ShowSecondsInSystemClock.
  4. Set the Value data of ShowSecondsInSystemClock to 1.
  5. Restart your computer to see the seconds display in the taskbar clock.

Restore the Classic Context Menu in Windows 11

Revert to the old-style context menu:

  1. Launch the Registry Editor.
  2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID.
  3. Right-click on CLSID, choose New -> Key, and use the following value for its name: {86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}.
  4. Right-click on the new key, select New -> Key, and name it InprocServer32.
  5. Inside InprocServer32, double-click the (Default) entry and click OK without entering any value.
  6. Restart your PC to apply the changes.

Speed Up Shutdown Time

Decrease the time it takes for your computer to shut down:

  1. Open the Registry Editor.
  2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control.
  3. Look for the WaitToKillServiceTimeout entry in the right panel.
  4. Double-click on WaitToKillServiceTimeout and change its value to a lower number (e.g., 1000 for 1 second).
  5. Close the Registry Editor and restart your PC.

Note: The value of WaitToKillServiceTimeout is in milliseconds.

Bypass TPM and CPU Checks for Windows 11 Installation

Install Windows 11 on hardware that does not meet the official system requirements:

  1. Open the Registry Editor.
  2. Navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup.
  3. Right-click on MoSetup, choose New -> DWORD (32-bit) Value, and name it AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU.
  4. Double-click on the new value and change the Value data from 0 to 1.
  5. Restart your PC, then check for and install Windows 11 updates.

Disable Automatic Updates on Windows 11

Control when updates are downloaded and installed:

  1. Launch the Registry Editor.
  2. Go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU.
  3. Right-click on AU, create a new DWORD (32-bit) and name it NoAutoUpdate.
  4. Open NoAutoUpdate and change the value to 1.
  5. Restart your computer to apply the changes.

This hack will require you to manually check for Windows updates.

Disable Bing Search From Windows 11 Start Menu

Remove Bing search results from the Start menu:

  1. Open the Registry Editor.
  2. Navigate to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows.
  3. Right-click on Windows, choose New -> Key, and name it Explorer.
  4. Right-click on Explorer, create a new DWORD (32-bit) and name it DisableSearchBoxSuggestions.
  5. Set the value of DisableSearchBoxSuggestions to 1.
  6. Restart your PC for the changes to take effect.
