The Tray Explorer Jump List icon does not work on Windows 7

Right-click the Explorer icon in the Windows 7 taskbar gives you the commands Recent Visit, Basic in the Jump List. However, if you don’t see anything in your jump list now, you can perform the following troubleshooting steps:

First right-click the taskbar > Properties > Start Menu tab.

Here you ensure that open items are saved and displayed in the start menu and taskbar. Click Apply/Exit.

If it does not help, it is quite possible that the memory file with the lists has been corrupted.

So you may need to rebuild it.

Open the Explorer and navigate to the folder %AppData%MicrosoftWindowsRecentAutomaticDestinationsAutomaticDestinations.

Here is a file named 1b4dd67f29cb1962.automaticDestinations. Delete it!

If you don’t see this file, just delete all automaticDestinations-ms files you see here. However, this will delete the jump list history for all your programs.

restart computer and randomly open folders/files to see if the jump list is built.
