Windows 10 now comes with some preinstalled store applications. This article describes how to prevent or stop installing, reinstalling or upgrading unwanted Microsoft Store applications and advertising for those applications.

Microsoft released Windows 10 as a service. With this concept, Microsoft is in a place where it can make free advertising offers, services, applications and other components available. It was the concept that first made Windows 10 free for consumers and, at the same time, allowed Microsoft to make some money from it.

In 2015, Microsoft disclosed that it had signed a contract with King, a developer of Candy Crush games. With the help of such an agreement, King’s applications like Candy Crush Saga and later Candy Crush Soda Saga were distributed to users integrated with the OOBE (Out of the box experience) under Windows 10. As Microsoft advances with new versions of Windows 10, more and more applications are announced in the Windows 10 Start menu. Windows 10 UWP applications such as Twitter, Photoshop, 3D Builder, Microsoft Solitaire Collection, etc. are preinstalled with Windows 10.

Users in online communities have indicated that these pre-installed Bloatware applications require up to 750 MB of disk space on the partition where they are installed. It is usually take the OS partition, which is usually the local disk C partition again. These applications are automatically recovered from the Microsoft Store with an updated version without user consent and run in the background. However, this download progress can be viewed in the Downloads and Updates section of the Microsoft Store. – a majority of users don’t notice it at the end. But this is not always the case.

If you get Windows 10 on the LTS (Long Term Servicing Channel), which is normally intended for businesses, you won’t see these Bloatware applications preinstalled, or if you use Windows 10 Pro for Workstations Edition, you won’t get this Bloatware preinstalled either. Although you can purchase Windows 10 Pro for Workstations Edition, it costs much more than other consumer editions for $300

There was a group policy to prevent the installation of these bloatware applications, but in Windows 10 v1607 this option has been removed. That does not mean, however, that there is nothing we can do about it. Deleting all these old options prevents us from installing unwanted applications by using certain changes to Windows 10
