This is where the troubleshooter runs and asks you if you used Windows Easy Transfer on your old computer. If you used Windows Easy Transfer to back up your data to your old operating system, click Browse for EasyTransfer File (recommended). If Windows Easy Transfer was not used, click Skip this step.

The package itself performs a specific diagnosis for the Troubleshooter package and automatically attempts to solve all identified problems. Depending on the solution to the problem, other questions may arise along the way.

The last screen of the troubleshooter indicates that the troubleshooting is complete and provides a quick summary. You can either click the Close button when your problem is solved, or browse other options if no problem is detected or if the problem persists. There is also a Display detailed information link available in the lower left corner of the window. By clicking on this link, you will get an overview of the measures taken by the Convenience Store to resolve your problem.

This special troubleshooter attempts to recover data’lost’ during a custom installation. You then see the migration steps for this data. If the Troubleshooter cannot find the data, it cannot restore it – this may happen if you have not created a backup with Windows Easy Transfer or if there is no windows.old folder on your computer.

Please note that Microsoft recommends using Windows Easy Transfer before running Windows Setup to save user information, documents, and settings from the old Windows installation, and then run the target installation tool again to restore the data.

Direct download link from Microsoft. It runs on Windows 10, Windows 8 and Windows 7
