- The tool will then repair your computer.
“Your Virus & threat protection is managed by your organization” is a Windows 10 notification and is usually not an operating system error, etc. The notification does not explain how to solve the problem (for example, if you want to change the Windows settings). “Some settings are managed by your organization” appears when a Windows user tries to adjust settings to which they have limited access. Windows often contains packages that are configured by organizations to restrict users’ access to important settings. By displaying the “Some settings are managed by your organization” notification, Windows blocks changes to these settings to prevent possible damage to the Windows operating system or corruption of associated data.
When you upgrade your operating system to Windows 10, users are asked who owns the computer (PC). You can choose between two options: You or your organization. If you select the second option, you may not be able to customize some Windows settings, and the notification “Some settings are managed by your organization” appears. However, Windows may not update the system, and subsequent actions are limited by an “organization” that does not exist physically or in relation to the installed operating system (or that does not “own your computer”).

- Navigate to the folder located under HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender (you can add it to the address field at the top of the window or navigate manually in the page directory structure).
- There are probably two keys in this file. Right-click on the DisableAntiSpyware key and delete it.
- Exit regeditit and return to the Windows Defender Settings screen (update it if necessary). Windows Defender must have the scanning options available and must work.
