If you use Microsoft keyboards and mice, they work by default on Windows with generic drivers to get basic functionality, but you can have IntelliPoint and IntelliType Pro drivers installed to get full support for peripherals and some special features of this device. And as I said, there were different drivers for the mouse and keyboard, so you had to install both.
With the new Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center, you no longer have to. This is a unified general disk for Microsoft mice and keyboards. It has an easy to learn Windows 8 interface. You can use it to create new shortcuts that make tedious tasks easier.
It was developed under Windows 8, but also works under Windows 7 !
The connected Microsoft hardware and its replica are displayed in the application, making it very easy to understand and configure. Some of the examples of the Microsoft keyboard and mouse as seen in the application, you can see how real the hardware images are.
This application allows you to view and change basic and application-specific settings for all connected devices in one place. It also provides access to an online troubleshooting library and instructions on various functions.
Some older Microsoft devices are no longer supported in Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center, but continue to be supported by IntelliPoint 8.2/IntelliType Pro 8.2 software. Check the device lists to see which software your device supports. You can see the bottom of the device to get the name of your device.
When you start the application and your Microsoft keyboard/mouse is connected, the configuration page with an image of the connected device is automatically detected and displayed as shown in the images above. The experience is much better than the previous Microsoft application, so try it.
Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center is available in 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Details can be found here at Microsoft Hardware.
