Most of us use Windows Update or Microsoft Update to keep our Windows operating system and Microsoft software up to date. But if, for some reason, you want to download updates manually and save them to your computer, you can do so:

Note the KB number in brackets and search for it here on Microsoft.com. If you do not find the appropriate results for downloads, select All Microsoft. and also the download page.
When you open its KB article page, you will see download links for all operating systems. Select your operating system and click on the link to access the download page.
Click the Download button to download and save the Windows update to your computer.
You can manually install the update on one or more of your computers, provided it applies to the operating system or software installed.
You can download, save and install Windows Update manually if you need to save the updates for any reason, or if you determine that you cannot update Windows with Windows Update.
Microsoft Update Catalog is a Microsoft service that provides a list of software updates that can be distributed over an enterprise network. Using the Microsoft Update Catalog can be a single point of contact for finding Microsoft software updates, drivers and patches.
