DNS or Domain Name System, helps to resolve the name of any web address. If you enter a domain name in the address bar of your browser, such as www.windowsbulletin.com, your computer uses Internet Protocol to resolve that name to the IP address of the Internet server on which the site is hosted.
By default, the Windows operating system is configured to automatically use the DNS server of your ISP or ISP.
A slow DNS server could be the cause of poor web browsing speed. If your ISP’s DNS server is slow, slow or sometimes overloaded, there may be an additional delay of several seconds each time you load a new web page.
In most cases, it is preferable to keep the default option. If you find that your default DNS provider is slow, you should consider finding a fast one. It is important to know that what may be good for one person in one part of the world is not necessarily good for another person sitting in another part of the world.
Here you can consider other third-party DNS providers such as OpenDNS, UltraDNS, Google DNS, etc. However, please note that only a reliable and reputable DNS server should be used, as these providers offer a better browsing experience, offer protection against phishing sites and update their DNS records more quickly when websites change IP addresses or register new domains.
To find out which DNS provider is best for you, you can use Namebench, an open source DNS benchmarking program. Once you have downloaded and run it, it will first extract its content and then you will quickly see its user interface.
Your current default name servers are loaded. After setting the options according to your wishes, you can click the Start Benchmark button. And at the end of the run, a list of the 3 fastest DNS servers for your location is displayed.
