In most cases, this can happen when your Windows computer is running on battery power because some WiFi access points use wireless access points or routers that do not support the 802.11 Power Save protocol.

Connect the device to the network and see if it makes a difference, because when the PC is connected to a power source, the wireless network adapter is configured to use Maximum Power mode, which disables the 802.11 power saving mode.

When an 802.11 wireless network adapter set to sleep mode wants to go into sleep mode, the adapter notifies the wireless AP of this intention. The adapter does this by setting the power saving option in its packets or in the 802.11 frames it sends to the wireless AP, explains KB928152

If the power connection does not work for you, you should configure the wireless network adapter to use the maximum power setting when Windows is configured to use the power saver or power saving mode.

Open the Power Options Control Panel applet and click the’Change plan settings’ link next to the Balanced or Power Saver plan. Then click the Change Advanced Power Settings link. Scroll down in the Power Options field that opens and expand the wireless adapter settings. Next, expand the power save mode. Now click the Battery drop-down menu and select Maximum Power .

Click OK and finish.

If this doesn’t work for you either, you should change the feeding plan yourself. By default, Windows uses the balanced power plan. Use the High-Performance Power Plan and see if it helps.

Click the battery icon in the taskbar and select High Performance.

You can also change the sensitivity or aggressiveness of WiFi roaming to improve WiFi reception and performance.
