If you found Google Docs, Sheets or Slides on your Android device a little too bright, you may prefer a new colour scheme. Google is introducing dark theme support for all three of these tools.
The dark theme will allow you to intelligently customize the product interface and user-generated content to make it more usable in low-light environments and save battery power.
Document, sheet and slide settings will be automatically adjusted when the Android system is configured to use the dark theme. You can also enable or disable the dark mode for documents, sheets and slides independently. In this case, each application is always in the selected theme regardless of the Android system settings.
All Android users will have access to the dark theme within the next two weeks. Users can activate the dark theme on documents, sheets or slides by going to the settings of the corresponding application.
