- Right-click on a hard drive and select Properties from the menu.
- Under General Settings, type the new name in the name field and click OK.
Rename a hard drive at the command prompt
Step 1: Press Win + X, then select Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu to open the command prompt as an administrator in Windows 10.
Step 2: Type the command: label : , and press Enter. For example, type Label C: Operating System and press Enter to change the name of the local C drive to ”Operating System”.
