Your profile image shows who you are on a particular platform or website. But that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it, especially on an entertainment platform like Twitch.
You can change your Twitch profile image in just a few clicks. The whole process will take about a minute if you’ve already chosen a new profile picture.
For some reason, you may encounter an error when uploading or editing your Twitch profile picture. However, you can solve the problem by trying solutions based on possible causes. One of the most common causes of such a problem is your browser cache, cookies, ad blocking extensions, etc.
In most cases, the error is caused by a corrupt PNG file or an image in an incompatible file format. Twitch only accepts profile pictures in PNG and JPG formats. Therefore, only upload this profile picture in Twitch format.
One problem you may encounter when trying to change your profile picture on Twitch is when you see an upload error. Here’s what you need to do to solve this problem.
What you need to do first: restart your computer and the router it’s connected to. Remember to unplug the power cords from both devices and plug them back in after a few seconds.
You should also try downloading another image, as the problem may be caused by the image you are trying to download. Make sure it is in JPG format and is no larger than 1MB.
Turn off or disable your browser ad blocking extension
According to various communities and forums, an active ad blocker extension in your browser may be the cause of this error. Therefore, if you are using ad blocker in your browser, disable this feature to fix the errors when loading your profile picture. Just follow the simple instructions below and quickly turn it off.

Now try again to upload an image or photo as your profile picture and see if it loads or not. If not, use the following solution.
Use incognito mode to upload photos
If you’ve tried to upload an image to Twitch several times and get the same error, try again in private browser mode or start a new private season. Repeating the same process over and over again can be the cause of a failed Twitch profile image upload. In addition, caches, cookies, history and saved data are not stored in this private window or in incognito mode. Therefore, the best solution is to check the private window mode error without clearing browser cache and cookies.
If you use the Safari or Firefox browser, you will need to use a new private window. However, Google Chrome browser users can start a new private browsing mode for private browsing.
Delete cache files and cookies
Step 1) First, click the icon with three vertical dots and hover your mouse over More Tools.
Step 2) Select Clear Browsing Data from the submenu, or press Ctrl + Shift + Del to open the Clear Browsing Data window.
Step 3) Click the Time Range drop-down menu and select the Every Hour option.
Make sure the “Cookies and Cache Files” option is enabled, and click the “Clear Data” button. Hopefully after that you will be able to visit Twitch and upload your avatar.
Try using a different browser to fix your profile picture loading error
There are times when the problem is caused by issues with the browser you are using. Try performing the task in a different browser. If the problem occurs when using Mozilla Firefox, try Google Chrome. If the problem occurs with Chrome, try Microsoft Edge.
By following the steps above, you should be able to successfully resolve the Twitch profile image download error.
