One of the benefits of having a Google account in Chrome is the ability to automatically store and enter passwords for related websites, saving time and money. However, some have reported that Google Chrome does not store passwords in any way. What is the problem with Chrome Password Manager? Even passwords stored by Chrome are not automatically entered on websites.
Google Chrome does not store passwords, how can I fix them?
Enable passwords and form settings Chrome
The first thing to do when Chrome stops asking you to save passwords is to make sure that the password saving setting has not been disabled. This should not happen unless you share access to your computer, but it is a quick check, so it makes sense to do it first.
In the Chrome settings (access chrome://settings/ or select Settings from the Chrome menu), set the Chrome settings to…. ) to ensure that “Enable automatic filling to complete web forms with a single click” and “Suggest saving passwords I enter on the web” are both enabled. These are located under Passwords and Forms and you must click on the link to display the advanced settings.
Also check if you are connected to Chrome with the account you want to connect to and if the synchronization settings are correct. It may be a strange synchronization problem that records them until you close and reopen the browser or something like that.
Deleting connection data and logging connection data
Deleting the Login Data and Login Data-login files from a profile fixes the storage of the password in that profile – without affecting the other data in that profile. A complete profile reset is not necessary – you can only reset the password memory by deleting only the files it uses.
October 2024 Update:
You can now prevent PC problems by using this tool, such as protecting you against file loss and malware. Additionally, it is a great way to optimize your computer for maximum performance. The program fixes common errors that might occur on Windows systems with ease - no need for hours of troubleshooting when you have the perfect solution at your fingertips:
- Step 1 : Download PC Repair & Optimizer Tool (Windows 10, 8, 7, XP, Vista – Microsoft Gold Certified).
- Step 2 : Click “Start Scan” to find Windows registry issues that could be causing PC problems.
- Step 3 : Click “Repair All” to fix all issues.
This means that you will unfortunately lose all the passwords you have previously registered. However, since you can no longer really access it anyway, this data loss has already occurred when the files were deleted.
Create a new user account
If Google Chrome does not store passwords, the problem may come from your account. Sometimes your account can be corrupted, which can lead to problems with Chrome. However, because there is no easy way to repair your account, it is a good idea to create a new one.
Log out of your Chrome account and log in again.
If the problem with passwords is due to poor synchronization, connecting and disconnecting can be a quick solution. To log out of Chrome on a Mac, simply click on the icon that looks like a three-point icon and press the SIGN OUT button next to your account. Wait a little while and come back and sign.
Deleting browing data
The chrome cache can sometimes cause problems with the browser. This is not only the case with Chrome and affects all browsers and dozens of applications. To clear the cache in Chrome, do the following:
- Open Chrome and select the three-point menu icon in the upper right corner.
- Select Other tools and Delete navigation data.
- Select all options for All hours and then select Delete data.
- Try again to connect to the site.
Upgrading from Chrome to the latest version
Several concerned users reported that the problem did not recur after updating their version of Chrome to the latest available version. This indicates that the problem may indeed be caused by an error that has already been fixed in one of the latest versions of Chrome.
By default, Chrome is configured to update automatically, but a customized power plan, a third-party optimization application or manual user interaction may have prevented the browser from updating.
