Microsoft today began releasing a new series of cumulative updates for Windows 10. Although the latest version, the October 2018 update, is not included in this package, patches will be distributed on several versions, ranging from the April 2018 update to the anniversary update. This update fixes high memory usage and other system crashes.

Each of these updates should now be available via Windows Update. Note that Jubilee and Creators Update updates are no longer supported for consumers, but today’s updates are available for Windows 10 Education and Enterprise customers.

This update contains high quality improvements. No new functionality has been provided for the work programs.

  • Fixed a problem with the date structure of the Japanese era calendar.
  • Fix a problem where the GetCalendarInfo function returns an incorrect era name on the first business day of the Japanese era.
  • Fix a problem that prevents terms from being deleted from the Microsoft Business Dictionary using the options.
  • Correct time zone changes for typical Russian daylight saving time.
  • Fixes a problem in Universal CRT that sometimes causes FMOD’s AMD64 to be implemented to return a false result when it returns fairly massive entries. FMOD is often used to implement the modulo operator in JavaScript and Python implementations that use the Universal C runtime.
  • Fix a problem that can cause abnormal memory usage when using sensitive cards.
  • Fixed a problem that prevented the program from working with the error code “0x120_fvevol!FveEowFinalSweepConvertSpecialRangesChunk”.
