CLR error on your computer is a fatal error that can prevent your computer from starting properly and prevent many applications from starting. One of the most common CLR errors is the “CLR error 80004005” that occurs on Windows systems during the boot process. This error usually occurs when multiple .NET Framework is installed on the system at the same time. Although there may be two or more .NET Framework running on a system at the same time, some have compatibility issues. To fix the CLR error, multiple platforms must be uninstalled and properly reinstalled.

Reinstall .Net Framework

This error indicates a corrupted .NET 2.0 installation. To check, you can download and run the .NET Check Tool and check .NET version 2.0 to make sure it doesn’t work.

If the .NET 2.0 check fails, the solution is to uninstall and reinstall .NET. If there are later versions of .NET (i.e. 3.0 or 3.5), you will need to remove .NET from the later version to 2.0. Then restart and try ACT! Reinstall. Once upon a time ACT! installed, you can reinstall any later versions of .NET that have been removed.
