November 2024 Update:
You can now prevent PC problems by using this tool, such as protecting you against file loss and malware. Additionally, it is a great way to optimize your computer for maximum performance. The program fixes common errors that might occur on Windows systems with ease - no need for hours of troubleshooting when you have the perfect solution at your fingertips:
- Step 1 : Download PC Repair & Optimizer Tool (Windows 10, 8, 7, XP, Vista – Microsoft Gold Certified).
- Step 2 : Click “Start Scan” to find Windows registry issues that could be causing PC problems.
- Step 3 : Click “Repair All” to fix all issues.
Before proceeding, first create a system restore point.
1] First note the name of the service that did not respond. Run now services.msc and search the name in the Services Manager. Here, we take the example of Group Policy Client Service as shown in the photo.
When you find the service, double-click it and identify the service file name. Here it is gpsvc.dll
The service is responsible for applying settings configured by administrators for the computer and users via the Group Policy component. If the service is disabled, settings are not applied and applications and components cannot be managed through group policy. Any components or applications that depend on the Group Policy component may not work if the service is disabled.
Next search for gpsvc in Windows folder. Right-click and check its properties. This is for your information and confirmation only.
In open service property windows, make sure the service is not disabled. Also make sure it is started. Click the Start button to start the service.
Then open the Dependencies tab. Here you can see the services and system components needed for gpsvc to work properly. So also check these services and make sure they are in good working order.
In this way, you must first identify the problematic service, its file name, and then ensure that the service is not disabled, but that it works with the services on which it depends.

2] In the customer service example of the group policy above, you can also check that the registry settings on the following key match what they should be :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesgpsvc
You can view the details of this message – The Group Policy Client Service Failed The Logon.
3] It is possible that the file itself was corrupted. Then repair corrupted Windows 10 system files. To do this, open the command prompt (Admin) in the WinX menu, type the following and press Enter to check the system file.
sfc /scannow
This will scan your PC and replace your damaged system files with good system files. Restart after scanning is complete.
4] Run the DISM tool to repair a possibly damaged system image . To repair Windows Image, open a high command prompt, type the following, and press Enter.
Dism /Online /Cleanup image /RestoreHealth
After scanning, reboot and see if it helped
5] If it is the System Event Notification Service that cannot answer, try it:
- Delete the contents of this folder C:WindowsSystem32winevtLogs and see. If you do not want to delete it, you can rename it. Windows will rebuild it if necessary.
- You can also reset Winsock and see if this helps.
(6) Some of the other things you might try are :
- Restore the system to a good point
- Disable your antivirus software and see
- Run a clean boot and try to resolve the problem
- Create a new user account and see
- Disable Quick Start and see
- If you are technically competent, you can read in the system event log why the service in question did not respond.
Best wishes.
