We have already seen the different hibernation states available in Windows. While reading about the different sleep states of the system under Windows, we also read about the new sleep state connected in Windows 8/10. This article will show you how to find the different available sleep states supported by your Windows computer and whether your system supports the connected sleep state.

To find out, you must open a command prompt window. Type in the boot image search and click Command Prompt.

If it supports. You will see it in the list of available sleep conditions. If this is not the case, then consider it as :

The firmware of the connected system does not support this sleep state.

Note : InstantGo in Windows 8.1/10 replaces Connected Standby in Windows 10/8

The ‘Slide To Shut Down’ function in Windows 8.1/10 only works if the hardware supports the’Connected Standby’ state. Also note that Hyper-V does not support Connected Standby
