To create a WiFi History Report under Windows 10, you must run a command line tool. This tool will then save the report as an HTML file on your Windows 10, consisting of the connection history for the last three days. To do this, you need the name of the network to which the PC was connected, the time the session in question started, the time it was interrupted, the duration of the session and any errors that occurred.
The main feature of this report is the WiFi summary, which displays the WiFi connection session, although it is not limited to it. The report presents almost all the details you need to analyze your system’s network performance.
You must first run a command prompt. Search for’cmd’ and right-click on what appears. Select Run as administrator.
You must now enter the following command :
netsh wlan view wlanreport
Press Enter and the system generates the report in HTML format.
You can view the report here in the File Explorer:
%ProgramData%MicrosoftWindowsWlanReportwlantwlant-Report-latest.html
The ProgramData folder is a hidden folder, and if you want to access it, click the ‘View’ tab and click ‘Hidden Items’.
Click on the HTML report file to open it in your browser.
You can now see the connection details for the last three days of your WiFi usage. The red circle indicates an error. If you select it, you get more information about the error. This is an interactive report and moving the mouse pointer gives you more information about the object.
The main feature of this report is the WiFi summary, which displays WiFi connection sessions. You will also see user information, network adapter details, script output, session duration, wireless sessions, and more.
TIP: If netsh wlan show wlan report fails with an error 0x3A98, you can try updating your modem and see if this helps.
