Office 365 web app updated with new notification pane and more

Today, Microsoft has announced some new improvements that are coming to Office 365 web app,  that includes some UI tweaks, Skype for Business conversation integration, contextual setting menus and many other additions. One of the amazing feature that is added to the Office 365 web application is the quick access bar for the notifications. So in the upper right side of the screen, there is a notification bell which will brings up the pane to the right side of the screen with your recent notifications. If you had setup any personal remainders or new communications then they will sow up here as alerts.


A new Settings pane along with the Skype for Business integration also coming along with this update. The newly introduced settings pane is circumstantial, which means that it changes depending on what app you are currently using. In this way you can even personalize and customize your working environment without need to leave what actually you are working on. Quick updates to your notifications settings, your password or your automatic replies are just a few clicks away.


The Skype for Business integration feature allows the users to start the conversations with colleagues or friends right from the Office 365 Web application. Conversations will provide you with real time, direct access to the information that you need directly from your colleagues and persist across the applications.

Help pane is also added with the new update which delivers the quick access to help content using the search box and What’s New feature introductions, related to the application which you are currently working in. What’s New include the links to additional information, quick actions like create group and in few cases call out on the application canvas about the new feature is being introduced. The help pane question mark icon will show you a snowflake alert to call attention to the new features in the non-intrusive way.

These newly added features are supposed to deliver the more consistent, personalized and the productive experience within the Office 365 web application, which lets you and your team to achieve more with in the Office 365 web experience.
