Microsoft to launch hyperscale data centers in India by end of 2015
Last year, Microsoft has made an announcement that it is planning to build the data centers in India to serve the Microsoft’s Azure and Office 365 users locally. Microsoft has commissioned three hyperscale data centers which are expected to launch by the end of this year.
Bhaskar Pramanik, Microsoft’s Indian chairman said that,
Microsoft has already started a private preview of these data centers with more than 100 existing customers on board across different segments such as banking and financial institutions, startups, manufacturing and government sectors.
Microsoft is targeting the formal launch by end of this calendar year and looking to facilitate the growth in government and financial sectors with its cloud sectors.
If the government has to address 1.2 billion citizens then it needs hyper-scale data centers at an affordable cost with technology and flexibility.
Parmanik also revealed that the Microsoft is witnessing the annual growth of 105 percent in India for its cloud business and stating that the addition of the local data centers with the further catalyze growth in the country.
