How to remove lock screen in Windows 10

Microsoft has released the Windows 10 Technical Preview which is almost similar to Windows 8 along with lot of new features. Microsoft has continued the lock screen in Windows 10 acts as an obstacle for those who unintentionally touch on the touch screen device. Lock screen appears when you boot Windows PC or when it is in sleep state. Windows 10 lock screen will just display the basic information like date, time and the latest notification of the app for easy tracking without need to access system windows. If you want to disable the Windows 10 lockscreen, follow this tutorial.

How to remove lock screen in Windows 10

  • Launch Run dialog box either by right-click on Start button and select Run or pressing Windows+R keys simultaneously. Enter gpedit.msc in the runbox and hit enter, this will open the Local Management Group Policy Editor.
  • Now in the left pane of Local Group Policy Editor navigate to Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Control Panel > Personalization.

  • Now in the right side pane, double click on the Do not display the lock screen.
  • This will open Do not display the lock screen window and here select Enabled option and click on Apply and Ok.

That’s it, from now you will not find any lock screen when you want to access your windows. From now you can directly log in to Windows. If you want to re-enable the lock screen in future, follow all the steps above until 4th step and here select Not configured and done.
