How to manage your Office 365 account
Microsoft’s Office 365 offers lot of inconvenience which lets you to easily install the mobile and desktop apps to use your Office 365 account on number of devices. How to install desktop apps
Very first thing what you need to do with any Office 365 subscription is to install the desktop apps on your Windows or Mac. How many devices you can use depends on which subscription you are having. For instance, the personal subscription will allow to install on two devices and the home subscription allows five.
- Launch the browser on your PC and navigate to Office.com.
- Here click on My account tab and sign in with the Microsoft account that your Office 365 subscription is attached to.
- Then click on Install.
That’s it, you will now get an installer on your PC which will do the rest of the work for you. If you want to install 64 bit version of the Office or install it in different language, just click on Languages and install options and select your preferred language. 64 bit Office will now be found under Advanced install options which is available under the dropdown box presented. This is also where you will get the options to install the Office 2016 Preview, if you would like to install it.
How to manage installs
Regardless of the type of your subscription, you will have an upper limit on how many times you can install Office apps on desktop. Your account management page will reveal you that which devices you are currently using and how many you have available. If your installs limit is completed and need to install the desktop apps somewhere else, you need to deactivate one of the current ones. In the same screen, look for an option that is highlighted in Blue color to every install, beneath the data that you installed on your device. Just click on it and follow the on-screen prompts to free up the slot to move to another computer.
You are allowed to install Office 365 on the certain number of devices which includes iPad, Android tablets with each taking up a tablet slot against your account. Any activation’s on these devices can be managed in this section similar to the desktop installs.
Payment and Billing
If you are subscribed to the free trail, then you will not be having any payment information with you. But the free trail is only up to 12 months, then you will be asked to either end or continue your subscription. The payment and billing part of your account is where you keep track of exactly when your subscription year ends and whether or not you’re set up for an automatic renewal.
In the certain subscribed period at any time you are allowed to setup the auto-renewal option such that you no need to worry about remembering to pay if you would like to keep the service on for next year. For this, just find Set up an auto-renew subscription at the bottom of the page. Below this there will be an another option Renew with an Office product key. If you are having the key with you, then redeem it. Click on the link and enter the code that appears in the box.
