How to get monochromatic icons for Windows apps on Windows 10

  • Press Win+R keys to launch RUN dialog box and type regedit to open Registry Editor.
  • Here navigate to
    HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerAdvanced
  • Here search for ImmersiveIconBackgroundSize key in the right side pane, right click on it and click on Modify and change value to and then click on OK.
  • Now exit from the Registry Editor and restart your PC for the changes to take effect.

That’s it, now the monochromatic icons will be shown for the Windows apps on your taskbar.
